Cookies are small values a browser can send with requests to a website. localStorage is browser storage that page scripts can read on the same origin; its contents are not automatically attached to every request like cookies. Both deserve a clear explanation when used to remember a choice.

What the other tools do

The message tool holds your draft in the current page, with clipboard access or a downloaded file only when you request those actions. It does not save drafts in localStorage. Your browser’s own autofill or session restore may behave independently.
